Di Reed has lived and worked on the Isle of Lewis for over 27 years.

She and her husband arrived in the remote village of Gravir in 1994, to set up home in a tiny blackhouse overlooking The Minch with two small children, a bump, two cats, two dogs and 27 fish. Her son was born five months later.

Having written all her life, and made a living as a commercial writer for 30 years, she has also worked as a cook on the sporting estates of Lewis, Harris and North Uist.

She formed Black Beast Books in 2016 and currently has five titles in print.
